Forged brooch with hemitite bead
sterling, hemitite, stainless steel
2.25" wide
This brooch was made a few years ago and is typical of much of my current work. I love using texture in my pieces and I use it to contrast with the highly polished surfaces.
Hi Fred, Of course, we've seen this brooch many times, but what we haven't seen are all the other pieces currently listed on your site. Your talent is amazing! Thanks for sharing it. Kind Regards, Jody and Jacque
Thanks you two. It is good to hear from you and I appreciate your comments. I hope to make this a regular stop for my friends. I just returned from my teaching stint at Idyllwild and it was a wonderful experience.
My interest in metalwork began during the 70's and has continued. I also collect handwrought metal as objects of study and admiration. My work is concentrated in the processes of forging, raising and repousse/chasing. I work as a mechanical designer to support my family and teach metalsmithing workshop a few times a year. I am in debt to all those who preceded me and those who continue to keep this craft/art alive.
